Why not both?
We see all over twitter different profiles dedicated to mocking feminism. A simple search of #meninist provides far too many results. The prevalence of this topic is not trivial. A hoard of posts have been made mocking feminism in the name of “meninism,” and they are not ignored. Feminists see them, meninists see them, and so does the rest of the world. Currently, twitter user @MeninistTweet has over 1 million followers. That is 1 million people retweeting, favoriting, and reading their posts, 1 million people who may start to believe that feminism is ridiculous and unnecessary. 1 million people who are actively being told that women’s problems are a joke. @MeninistTweet may think that their jokes are harmless, but in reality they promote oppression of women and promote the idea that feminism is a worthless movement. We don’t need this. The world does not need to dismiss feminism, which advocates for everyone, men included. What meninists don’t realize is that by slowing down the feminist movement, they are directly affecting themselves. Feminism is all-inclusive, pro-equality, and working towards a better, safer world. Mocking this movement is mocking women and men everywhere who experience abuse, rape, rape blame, domestic violence, oppression, body image issues, unrealistic standards, and anything else that plagues both genders. Logically, who would stand against this? The meninists must not understand the meaning of feminism, which addresses their problems as well. Some women give feminism a bad reputation, by using the term “feminism” to let them hate men and place blame on them. Meninists see this and react in opposition before they realize that these women are not feminists. Still, this rash reaction is causing detrimental effects to the feminist cause.

This has become a major topic is today's world and I agree that we do not need the "Meninist" making jokes. It has taken long enough to have women gain equality to men and this twitter is just going to hinder the growth if not set it back.

I completely agree with you. Mocking the movement for women is no laughing matter. Your topic speaks out a lot. The tweets you used show a great example of how Meninist is degrading women.

I am a huge supporter of the feminist movement. I think this blog is a good way to bring attention on those who are hurting the feminist movement. The meninist account should not be getting as much support it does, and hopefully it is just a fad and people start to focus on the legitimacy of feminism.

It almost makes me mad how the "meninists" can get away with mocking a movement that is such a big deal to some women. I agree with you that using the word feminism should be used with the knowledge of understanding what it is and not use it to get away with hating the other sex. It is crazy that a parody account can cause disturbance to the value of women so easily.

The one thing that really makes me angry about the menimist account is the fact that it is so heavily supported. The part that scares me is the fact that I've talked to people that support it and they clearly believe every word they're saying. I hope to see more from you because every action I take shouldn't be preceded by "Will this guy in your life like it?".
